CURRENT PROJECTS

SR-9/ I-95 Noise Walls extending from 600’ South of Diana Drive and 520’ North of Diana Drive

Palm Beach, FL

The project involves the extension of the 22’ high existing noise wall along the East side of Northbound I-95 in Palm Beach County.  The state regularly installs sound walls to buffer traffic noise as highways are widened and neighborhoods or developments are affected. The limits of this SR 9 (I-95) project extends 600’ from South of Diane Drive to 520’ North of Diane Drive, for a length of approximately 0.320 miles. VN Engineers is responsible for the design of a 1,120 foot long noise wall.

SR-5/US-1, from South of Eve Street to South of Harborside Drive

Delray Beach, FL

The limits of this SR 5 (US-1) 3R Project extend from South of Eve Street to South of Harborside Drive, for a length of approximately 0.490 miles. The project involves milling and resurfacing as well as widening to accommodate designated bicycle lanes. The scope includes re-grading existing swales along the corridor to mitigate storage loss and upgrading the signing and pavement markings to comply with MUTCD as well as the City of Delray Beach Engineering Standards. In addition, video detection and loop detection have been incorporated at signalized intersections.  Designated bicycle lanes are to be incorporated throughout the project limits.  The lighting at the intersection of US-1 and Linton Blvd. has been designed to meet the lighting retrofit criteria. VN Engineers is responsible for the design of a four-lane typical section, 3R project including drainage improvements, signalization, lighting, utility coordination and safety upgrade.
